Cardi B is tired of “WAP” being blamed for the supposed downfall of America.
CCTV footage of a speech made by Wisconsin Rep. Glenn Grothman surfaced on Twitter Thursday, where he recited some complaints directed at the Federal Communications Commission regarding Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion‘s sexually charged performance at the Grammy Awards.
“Millions of Americans would view her performance as inconsistent with basic decency. Wake up, FCC and begin to do your job,” Grothman read from a sheet of paper. “The moral decline of America is partly due to your utter complacency.”
Upon hearing those remarks, the 28-year-old rapper fired off a counter argument and brought up other incidents she finds far more horrifying than a song about a sexual relationship.
“This gets me so mad ya don’t even know,” fumed Cardi while linking back to the Congressman’s video. “I think we all been on the edge this week since we seen police brutality back to back including watching one of the biggest case in history go down DUE to police brutality but wait! This is [what the] state representative decide to talk about.”
The “Up” rapper referenced the shooting of Jacob Black, a 29-year-old man who was shot and seriously injured by police last summer, as one example of something she finds more disturbing than her number one hit single.
“They giving seats to F***** IDIOTS,” Cardi wrote in a follow up tweet. “This is why people gotta vote ,elect better people cause you got these dum a**es representing states.”
This isn’t the first time the rapper has told her critics to check their priorities. Following the shooting death of Daunte Wright last week, she lambasted “Blue Check Republicans” for remaining silent over police brutality, which she dubbed “what’s REALLY WRONG IN AMERICA!”
