Taco Bell is making crispy chicken a permanent part of the menu by 2026.
Nuggets are the first step, but don’t get attached just yet as Taco Bell is exploring more crispy chicken creations this year to see how the category will take shape long-term.
The chain sold out of nuggets in about a week during their initial limited-time offering last December, but this time they have adjusted their forecast to prevent a similar situation.
Taco Bell differentiates its chicken nuggets by marinating them in a zesty jalapeƱo buttermilk flavor and coating them in tortilla chips and breadcrumbs, offering a unique and flavorful option.
Taco Bell’s investment in crispy chicken aligns with the trend in the fast-food industry, with other chains like McDonald’s, Wingstop, Popeyes, and Wendy’s also expanding their poultry offerings to cater to the growing demand for chicken among customers, especially Gen Z.
