Power 106.9 - Omaha's #1 For Hip Hop & Hits

Trey Parker and Matt Stone have signed a groundbreaking five-year deal with Paramount for the global streaming rights to “South Park,” valued at $300 million per year, totaling $1.5 billion.

Paramount did not respond to requests for comment on the deal, which is not yet finalized.

The deal follows a tense standoff between Parker and Stone and Paramount, with accusations of interference in contract negotiations.

The new agreement will bring regular “South Park” episodes to Paramount+ in the U.S. for the first time, marking a strategic shift for the long-running animated series.

Parker and Stone are also renegotiating an overall deal with Paramount to continue producing new episodes for Comedy Central beyond their current agreement, which runs through 2027.
