Ari Lennox has officially left J. Cole’s Dreamville Records after years of label struggles.
The split was described as “amicable” and with “deep respect on both sides” by a representative.
Lennox expressed frustrations over lack of control over her artistry and an unclear rollout strategy for her sophomore album.
Despite the split, Lennox plans to release new music independently and is excited about exploring new opportunities and having more creative freedom.
Lennox’s departure from Dreamville reflects a broader trend of artists seeking autonomy and ownership in the music industry.
